Arena Report: LAW "Leap of Faith" Rector, AR 2.29.08

----Flash Flanagan beat Mark Sterling in a good solid bout. This was probably the best “wrestling” match on the show, but not the best bout. Some blotched spots, but nothing major. Sterling has improved tons since the last time I seen him – which was his rookie year. Sterling looked great coming out of heat with a monkey flip and suplex. He went for what looked like a moonsault with Flash cutting him off and him landing in the “tree of woe”. Flash finished him off with the stomp to the face from the top rope. Flash used the ropes for the pin. [**3/4]

----The announcer Koko brought me into the ring to talk about the “Yearbook 2007”. So, can you smell an angle?? LOL Jeff O’Dell/Idol Bane [pictured] walked out. O’Dell mentioned how he was upset his pic was not in the book and that Brian Thompson’s pic was in it. [for shoot] He then grabbed the book and gave it to Bane. Bane looked at it a bit and then tore it up into pieces. I went to grab O’Dell, and then Bane pulled me around to put the “Ghost of Andy Kaufman” [GOAK] on me, when Derrick King ran in for the save with a superkick. I even bumped and was told I bumped right. LOL

----Rebecca Raze beat Angelina. Not good. Angelina’s first match, so I will not spend time going over how bad it was. Raze is better and showed a few good moves, but didn’t have much to work with. Angelina has a long way to go, but seem to have a good attitude. She knew it was bad. [DUD]

----Sergeant Savage beat AJ Williams. Not good. Heel was AJ and he got babyface shine at the start. Savage seems to be learning a little. AJ took a backdrop bump and he landed on his neck on the ropes. I thought he had broken his neck. Psychology was ok when AJ started the heat, but gave Savage nothing after that until the finish. Finish had AJ miss a 450 splash and Savage pin him. [*] – for splash.

----“The Aslyum” [Pappy/Psycho] beat The King Brothers. Solid bout with good psychology. King Brothers looked like the Samoa Joe brothers. LOL They need a lot of work and need to use their size even in matches with a big guy like Psycho. They did a double team move as the heat start [heat spot took three tries] that looked really good with one doing a step over ankle with the other one doing a senton. Asylum got a HUGE pop. Heat on Pappy with hot tag to Psycho. Finish had Asylum use a new finisher with Pappy doing a Samoan drop and Psycho doing a flying headbutt at the same time, then they both grabbed a leg for the pin. [**1/2]

----Derrick King beat Idol Bane in a “Last Standing” Match. This was Bane’s biggest profile bout of his career and he shined. Just a crazy brawl with DK taking him slamming him all over the place and throwing a trash can hitting him in the head. Crowd was into it. Rules had after pinned, the guy pinned had to the 10 count to get up. DK took the first pin after the “Ghost of Andy Kaufman”. They went back and forth with everything. DK hit three superkicks before putting Bane down for the count. After the bout Bane did three more GOAKs on DK leaving him lying. Bane loses, but leaves with heat and easily the top heel here from crowd reaction. [***3/4]

----“The Golden Boy” Greg Anthony beat Brandon Espinosa in a Ladder Match. Good match. TGB made it clear that he had never lost a ladder match and he was “King of the Ladder Match”, which in normal world of wrestling booking means he is going to lose. Some really crazy spots with Espinosa taking the first one doing a frog splash from a 20 foot ladder missing hitting all ladder into the ring. Crowd was chanting “No Fear!!” This bout, even though a ladder match, had perfect psychology with TGB getting heat and Espinosa fighting back. Espinosa was put between two ladders and TGB did a splash on him. They also did a double “wham” spot where both got hit with two different ends of the ladder which looked good. O’Dell tried to interfere, but DK ran him off. O’Dell looks scared to death. [a shoot]. Bane came out and did a GOAK on Brandon, but it did not put him out. Finish had two ladders set up and both going up for the belt. Punches looked real weak here. TGB fell off the ladder, Brandon did a frog splash on TGB, instead of just reaching for the belt and wining the bout. Another GOAK from Bane and then Bane put TGB on his shoulders pushing him up the ladder to get the belt for the win. [***1/2]

----60 to 70 in the crowd – a very loud hot crowd…Flash/Mark did a lot of stalling psychology at the start to get the fans into it, but not my “cup of tea” – nothing wrong, but I just wanted to see these guys work!! They hate Flash here…I told O’Dell to tell the crowd who got him in the business. Trivia – Brian Thompson sent him to me to do ring announcing one night for CCW and he has been a part of wrestling ever since. Sorry folks…The book that Bane ripped up was a “proof” that the publishers sent to me to correct the mistakes…AJ was talking about how horrible a worker John Cena was backstage. LOL Someone give this guy a mirror… King Brothers worked in the early stages of LAW as Knox Brothers. I did not remember them….They did an angle after DK got laid out where all the fans get in for $2 next week and if they draw 100 “DK fans”, then they will let everyone in for $2 next week…Should have been some blood in the last two matches… The ladder match was not as good as expected – should have been a title change to put Brandon over…Even though they are over with me, too many GOAKs!!...Thanks to cast and crew for their help with the book sales and just a good time backstage.

A Piece of my Mind Feb 29th 2008 by "The Big Cheese" Sal Corrente

All this week all I have heard about is Floyd Mayweather getting TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS for Wrestlemania. If that is true it is an insult to everyone who has ever put on a pair of tights and gotten in a ring including myself. I think that the SEC and all stockholders should insist upon full disclosure on this issue. In many ways as much as this company is publicly traded, it is still run like a sole proprietorship or, actually, a military dictatorship.

I was involved with inaugural Wrestlemania event as a promoter of a closed circuit location. It was an event that right out of the gate pretty much became a “brand”. I realize that Wrestlemania is a special event but if they are squandering twenty million dollars on a boxer that is one hundred and something pounds WWE has made a very poor choice.

If I was going to spend a ridiculous amount of money like that for an in ring talent I would have offered it to “The Rock”. If not “The Rock”, Stone Cold Steve Austin if he would choose to risk his body. Are those reasonable suggestions? I don’t know but at least the money would be going to someone who made the company a lot of money and, if promoted right, will increase the buy rate.

If you really look at this for what it is it is, a horrible decision that truly, if it had any chance to succeed, would have needed a different participant. The whole thing could be a publicity grabbing situation based on a disgusting dollar amount. If it is a stunt, how can a publicly traded company make false public statements?

If you are Vince McMahon what’s really left except shocking America and succeeding with wild and outlandish stunts that normal people wouldn’t even consider. If I am Floyd Mayweather and I find someone crazy enough to give me twenty million dollars I say "Yes Sir" and I take it. If I am The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, John Cena, Edge and The Big Show I make sure I know what I am going to get from this extravaganza or I don’t even show up at Wrestlemania. I understand business is business but if this story is true it’s a slap in the face to the boys and a total embarrassment.

In a few short hours my friend Dory Funk Jr will have his last match in Japan. I have been told the tour is going well. I think Dory and Marti made a great decision to have Dory’s last match in Japan. I am sure there Dory is getting the respect and recognition that he deserves in Japan. The only thing that could have been better would have been a Hall of Fame induction and a match at Wrestlemania. This could be a very pie in the sky kind of idea but wouldn’t a Dory Funk vs. Ric Flair match at Wrestlemania been a good way for Flair to go out? It could have been a great Hall of Fame thing in Florida. We could have had Terry induct his brother and let Dusty be with Flair. It would have been a great Florida theme and they could have all been celebrated where at least three of them really became legends. Then they all could have said their in ring goodbye’s. I think it would have been a classy move and I am sure that WWE would have thought of it and had been glad to implement it. It’s a shame someone spent so much on the other talent that there couldn’t have been anything left for the Funks. So with that being said Dory enjoy Japan. I sure don’t mind being known as the last guy that got the Funk’s together back in Tampa and Dusty Rhodes was on the same card. It was a fun night back in two thousand and five when WrestleReunion was born.

The picture for this article came from WrestleReunion Two in Valley Forge. It is a picture of The Evil Clown. If you look under the make up that is Maniac Matt Borne who was the Original Doink the Clown in WWE.

This has been a piece of my mine

Our Condolences...

----Our condolences to Robert Justice and family who lost his mother-in-law this pass week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. If there is anything that RRO and staff can do, please do not hesitate to call.

Tidwell To TLCW!!

----Jimmy Tidwell, who has been one of NBW’s top heels since taking over as Commish in April, 2007, is scheduled to start with TLCW and could be as soon as this weekend. I talked with TLCW officials this week and their plan as of right now is to use Tidwell in a heel commish role opposite Mark Tipton. This is almost the same role as Tidwell assumed coming into NBW. There are also some bigger plans for Tidwell, if negotiations are worked out, to have him manage a big name during a major storyline. Tidwell had informed NBW weeks before that he was headed to TLCW and as he stated Saturday night, “I need time away from NBW” as his character would be going thru a change with the Mark Justice turn. Rumors have been circulating that Tidwell was going to TLCW as Tidwell was spotted having lunch during the first phase of “Book Tour 2008” with Derrick King, Stan Lee, Flash Flanagan and myself.

He is a Kevin White student…Other promotions should take a notice the way this show was ran – It started at 7:15 and was over at 9:30. They did 5 matches and 2 intermissions and got the fans out of there happy with what they had watched. Great ticket prices also!!...It has been reported other places that Nick Dinsmore is no longer using the Eugene gimmick – it looks like he is finishing up appearances doing it.

Memphis Wrestling TV Report 1.23.08 and The Ratings: Lowest Rating EVER!!

----I would like to apologize for taking so long to get this report up. I have just been so uninterested in Memphis Wrestling because of these reruns. After getting the rating in, then I can see no one else really cares either. Next week starts the Terry Funk interviews and it will be something for everyone to TIVO that has not seen them. We will skip “Flashback” also this week as we will return next with full analysis of the Funk interviews including excerpts from his book.

----This show did an overall rating of 1.5 [25,352 viewers], which is the lowest rating recorded since starting this site in May, 2006. May 5, 2006 scored a 1.6 [26,862], which was the reigning champion up until this past weekend. The Vols vs Tigers match up can probably contribute to some of the loss of audience, because overall viewing was down by 26%. The only “highlight” of this rating is that the show gained over 17,000 viewers from start to finish and that might be the fact that people were wanting to know who the surprise that Maclin had.

----Jerry Lawler and Corey Maclin open the show with Tennessee Volunteers and Memphis Tigers gear. Maclin is still in love with Jerry. Maclin and Lawler talk about when Maclin brought in Terry Funk.

----Match starts with Kamala turning on Maclin from “ThrowBack Night” as Lawler/Jimmy Hart help him beat up Maclin. The Fords make the save. Have I said how horrible this was?? LOL

----Lawler/Hart interview with Brian Teigland. Lawler gives Maclin hell for bringing out the Fords. Lawler said that the Fords hid behind the kids. Not sure why they continued to talk about his, because the Fords didn’t do anything else with wrestling; did they??
Lawler invites them to the TV station. Hart is hilarious here. They show a video of the new Cadillac that Lawler “won” in the battle royal.

1st Quarter Rating 1.1 [19,139 viewers]

----Lawler interview continues. Maclin promises Lawler he has someone for him at the next “ThrowBack II”.

----Rest of the second quarter was a “Special News Alert” with info about the Vols vs Tigers game with them talking to drunks on Beale about the win/loss.

2cnd Quarter Rating 1.5 [25,184 viewers]

----In progress for the finish of “Sexy Assassins” [Flex/Tim Grind] beat Tony Gunn/Dr. Death [who was this??] with Flex pinning Gunn.

----Koko Ware interview. Ware claims he put Brandon Groom and Ms Summer out of wrestling. This was horrible. Ware talks about Kevin White. White jumps Koko and send him packing. White – interview. Good interview.

----Shock/Nicolas Doom beat “the Lifeguards” [Scott & Dustin Starr]. Not a good match. Shock pins Scott

3rd Quarter Rating 1.2 [20,483 viewers]

----Shock interview with Doom & valet?? Who was the girl??

----Maclin brings out Lawler/Hart to tell him who will be his partner for “ThrowBack II”. Hart is so funny here. Hart takes off his shirt again this week. LOL Maclin talks about the Kat – when she left him Maclin was the only one that he could cry on his shoulder. Maclin reminds Lawler that this man makes him sick – he almost throws up thinking about this man. 8.28.04 – He hates your guts!! “I am talking about Terry Funk!!!” Lawler chases Maclin. Good stuff!!

----Lawler/Maclin in studio again. Lawler talk about Maclin suing people. LOL Maclin just loves Jerry!!

4th Quarter Rating 2.2 [36,432 viewers]

12 Week Average: 2.6 [41,508 viewers]
12 week low – 1.5 [25,352] 2.23.08
12 Week High 3.5 [58,762 viewers] 1.12.08
From start to finish: [+17293 viewers]

What was Memphis watching? News Channel 3/Saturday Night Live6.5 [109,254 viewers]

Train Has Been Derailed - NBW Champ Injuried!

----It has been reported on the Kayfabe message board and I have got a numerous calls about it, but NBW champion Crazy Train looks to have a fractured disc in his lower spine. I hear he will be out anywhere from six to twelve weeks. Bad news for the young kid that was showing some promise in the last few weeks. Train was not hurt by Motley Cruz, but actually got hurt doing a standard bump over the top rope hitting the hard part of the ring apron. I am being told that NBW booker Jeremy Moore has requested him to continue to try to come to shows and use him anyway in some role, since Train is champ and he brings about 30 paying customers. No idea if anything has been decided yet, but I do look for them to drop the belt to Cruz somehow. This could also been turned into a “shoot” angle if handled right as those Train fans were really pissed the other night at Cruz for being so stiff.

"Coach's Corner" Tuesday Afternoon Edition

----It is funny how Michael St. John was talking about the upcoming United Wrestling League show going back to the basics and presenting “wrestling” on “Cheap Heat Radio”. I say this because they are presenting one of the biggest gimmick matches I have ever seen promoted – blindfold battle royal. I hate battle royals and this gimmick just smells of disaster. You got some of the best workers in the area like Kevin White, Derrick King and Stan Lee and you stick them in something like this?? I do plan to shell out the $11.95 to experience their first PPV, so I can offer a review for the site. I just might blindfold myself for the battle royal and then maybe it will not be so brutal.

---- St. John did make a good point about his job as an announcer. It is the announcer’s job to get over the workers, not get over them selves. RRO Announcer of the Year Michael Ward is a perfect example of this. You hardly ever hear him say anything, if it is not pertaining to the match or to the wrestlers in the ring. A good announcer also gets over the feuds, gives history and makes it a point to get over the attributes of a worker – whether heel or baby. Ward’s broadcast partner Friday night “Just Joe” is notorious for spending time trying to get over his heel persona – even talking to the fans and putting them down. He was tame on Friday night as Ward did a good job with him. Saturday night Richard Marx did a good job getting over things like “Southern Pride” being a team for such a long time, Christian Jacobs working in Nashville and got over the fact that Coach BT might be helping Justice, but still is not a nice guy. One of my favorite tandems that don’t get a lot of credit is the announcing team of Les Thatcher and Dutch Mantell during the Smokey Mountain Wrestling days. If you get a chance look up some of their stuff.

----It is weird how there is so much “hate” in the indy scene. I write a report about how much I enjoy the NBW show and the Crazy Train match from last week and I have been told that I am just “kissing ass”. Funny how when I write good things about other promotions, then it is right on the money. If you have not figured out this by now from the reading the site, I try my best to be a straight shooter when it comes to rating matches and giving reviews. Maybe that is where it pisses people off, because they know I am being honest and they hate it that I am not just constantly putting them over. A lot of promotions and workers need to take a lesson from TLCW cast and crew. They were voted RRO Promotion of the Year two years in row. When I post something bad about them – I expect someone to call. They do less and less these days, because they know I am telling it the way I see it. The same can be said about a promotion like NBW that I give hell to all the times for Jeremy Moore’s insane storylines. They take note and don’t spend time trying to change my opinion. Remember this is my opinion and not always the opinion of the masses.

----I get ask more than once a week about RAW. No, I do not watch the show as a whole. I sometimes watch various stuff. Do I really care about the Big Show vs Floyd Mayweather bout?? Not really. After looking at the size of both of those guys, the Big Show looks like he should just kill Mayweather. Could he? It might be more interesting to see a shoot between these two guys. Mayweather s considered one of the best boxers in the world, but a guy the size of Show is just someone you would not want to tackle. I remember always hearing stories of how Andre the Giant was scared of no one and had good reasons not to be. Since doing this site, I, like many workers in this area, have a tunnel vision of just this area. I am more worried about what Memphis Wrestling is going to do or if the ladder match Friday in LAW is going to live up to my expectations than I am worried about whether Big Show beats Mayweather.

----I have had a few people ask if a promotion like RWA can continue to survive when they have guys like San Francisco Treat, Loose Cannon and Sgt. Shakedown on top. This group is drawing the same numbers as most of the other promotions like TLCW, NBW and TFW. So, I guess you can’t criticize them for who is on top. The key to getting better crowds and such is to know when to bring new guys in and when it is time to step down from the top. Treat as a booker will have to learn that. His role might then turn into getting some of the middle card guys over. The same can be said for Cannon. Shakedown..well…the brawls like they had might be the key for him, but I would only use him short term. The key to this promotion is building around someone like Jamie Jay or Ali Stevens – making a champion or challenger that everyone believes in. Their short term history has shown that they don’t draw anymore with Rodney Mack or Jazz on the card and both of them have other commitments. Why not put the belt on Mack and have him take all challengers for the belt?? Jamie Jay one week. Ali Stevens one week. SF Treat one week. This would push the belt with it meaning something and would make Mack mean something. You can also use it to further other angles as a heel could always interfere to cost say Ali the belt to build something for them. The key to success is not going to be pushing Treat and Cannon on top all the time, because you just going to get that same old “backwoods” crowd – to improve the crowd will be improving the quality of workers.

RassleResults: LAW Rector, AR 1.22.08

Mark Sterling over Evan Galestico
"The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony over Dell Tucker
“The Asylum” [Pappy/Psycho] over Rockin' Randy/Johnny Vinyl/Pierre Abernathy by Count Out.
Flash Flanagan over Gary J
Derrick King and Brandon Espinosa wrestled to a No Contest with Greg Anthony as Special Guest Referee

----TGB worked on Tucker's arm the whole match and won with a tornado single armed DDT. Tucker had to be helped to the back. As TGB and O'Dell gloated over ruining Brandon Espinosa's "Be My Valentine" and costing Derrick King the 1st ever LAW Love/Hate Match, Espinosa came through the front door and threw O'Dell out of the ring while TGB kept talking when TGB asked Jeff a question and didn't get an answer TGB turned around into a flurry of right hands from Brandon. Eventually Jeff tripped Espinosa that allowed TGB to get the upper hand before DK made the save. Jeff announced that Derrick would be in a Last Man Standing Match next week against Idol Bane but tonight he would be going one on one with.... Brandon Espinosa…Randy, Vinyl and Pierre were very confident this week as they agreed to give Pappy another handicap match for the LAW Tag Titles. When the bell rung Pappy didn't come out of the corner, Randy tried to get him to start the match but Pappy just stood in the corner, then he pointed to the entrance way and The Asylum's music hit and here came Psycho! The Asylum hit their finish on Pierre but Randy and Vinyl pulled him out and took the count out…Slim Pickens, who has a severely injured knee, came to challenge Flash again but Gary J came and said he would wrestle in Slim's place because Slim is in no condition to wrestle. After the match, Flash threw Slim back into the ring and was going to use a steel chair on his leg but Mark Sterling came out and got on Flash. Mark shot Flash off but Flash grab the ropes and slid out…Right before the main event, Jeff O'Dell came and told Sherina Fowler that she wouldn't be reffereeing this match "The Golden Boy" would. TGB made it very difficult for both men taking cheap shots at both the entire match. After a double knock out, Greg started counting both men down when he reached 8 Espinosa made it way up but TGB pushed him down and turned around to a DK superkick and stumbled back into Espinosa' Mood Swing. DK told Brandon to cover TGB and DK counted the one, two , three.

---40 to 50 in the crowd with a $200 gate…Next week at "Leap of Faith" it will be "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony vs Brandon Espinosa in Ladder Match for the LAW Title, Derrick King vs Idol Bane in a Last Man Standing Match, The Debut of Rebecca Raze, The Asylum vs The King Brothers and Flash Flanagan vs Mark Sterling.

----Cameron Cage beat Deadly Dale…Gary Diamond beat San Francisco Treat…Big Al beat Ali Stevens…San Francisco/Loose Cannon beat Gary Diamond/Sgt Shakedown in a “Fans Bring Weapons” bout.

----125 to 140 people in the building…I did not get the names of the first match…Cameron Cage distracted Ali for Big Al to get the roll up…Main event fans had everything from nunchucks, swords [plastic], chairs, toilet lids, and one dude event threw in his prosthetic leg. They fought all over the place with other wrestlers from the back jumping in. Diamond took three hard chair shots and was bleeding all over the place…They were building for some kind of “Wrestlemania” surprise contest for next week…Main event was real good and overall it was a good show. I will return to see more of their shows.

Arena Report: NBW Dyersburg, TN 1.23.08

----I would like to first thank the cast & crew of NBW for such a good time and support of “Yearbook 2007”. Big thanks go to Jeremy Moore, Jeff McDonald, Mark Justice and Jimmy Tidwell for everything they did to get the book over and the angle.

----Show started out with an angle to set up the main event. Jimmy Tidwell announced that Rob Justice was not there tonight and he had Sgt. Savage and Jason Matthews with him. Tidwell called out Mark Justice and offered him his hand to just forget about what happened last week. Justice just turned and went to walk away when they jumped him. Justice came off the ropes with a double closeline – got a good pop. Stips were set up for later in the night – Loser Leave NBW & No Longer Use “Riot Squad” name. Justice also had no tag team partner and Matthews didn’t either, so “acting” Commish McDonald said that if Tidwell couldn’t find anyone, then he would have to wrestle.

----Tim Edwards come out with Sicilian Kid. Edwards has Kid’s contract and he went on to say that he was not happy with his performance. Edwards said that he had stole Arenz’ baby doll last week, so they would not see him tonight. Edwards said hit the music for whoever he is working tonight. Arnez hit the ring and they brawled all over the place. Crowd was super hot for this. Arnez took Edwards outside, but then right back in. Finish had Jon Roberts come out and distract Arnez with his baby doll and Arnez ran him to the back. [**1/2]

----Richard Marx interviewed me about “Yearbook 2007”. We brought out Kilo and congratulated him on being RRO Most Underrated of the Year. I also noted that he was ranked in the top 5 of the area. As Kilo left, Jimmy Tidwell made his way to the ring. He talked about how he led the “Riot Squad” to places that I had never done and how they had kicked me to the curb. Tidwell grabbed me and Mark made the save. I did a little mic spill about how I founded the Riot Squad name and all. I also said that Mark had no one to trust here, but I trusted him and I would be in his corner tonight. Some kind of bullshit like that. LOL I even got a pop!! LOL

----Phoenix X beat Jeremy Moore in a pretty good bout. Moore came out and then X’s music didn’t even play and he jumped Moore. X was stiff – just ask Jeremy!! They brawled outside the ring and up to the announcer’s desk, which is about 10 ft above the crowd. The ref should have counted them both out, because they were up there a long time. Finish had Moore go for the Ace crusher, but X sent him into the ref. Not a complete bump just a turnaround. X then used the dreaded Ninja Mist into Moore’s eyes for the pin. [**1/2]

----“Southern Pride” [Kilo/Tommy Redneck] beat Sicilian Kid/John Roberts to retain the NBW Tag Team Titles. Good match. I love the Roberts Rick Rude gimmick. He is hilarious. Pride was “on” here doing some real kewl double team moves and I didn’t even think that they were going to give the heels anything. They did one double team move where Redneck did a backslide and stayed on his hands/knees as Kilo grabbed the top rope and leaped over with a senton. Heat on Redneck. Kid still needs A LOT of work. Roberts started the heat on Redneck’s leg, so where did Kid go as soon as he got in the ring – to Redneck’s head. LOL I think Edwards, who was ringside with them, told him to go back to the leg. Hot tag to Kilo with some hard chops to Kid. Kilo went to superkick Roberts for the win, but Roberts moved and Kid got superkicked & pinned. Edwards and Roberts beat up Kid after match with Arnez making the save. Arnez then used his noose to hang Kid and then took off when he seen his baby doll again. [**3/4]

----Tidwell/Slaughter/Matthews came out and said they had a partner after Tidwell teased he was going to wrestle. Big Red came out to tag with them. They did an angle next as Mark & I stood in the ring as they played Moore’s music, Rocker’s music and “Southern Pride” music with no one coming out to tag with Justice. I then got on the mic to let everyone know that I had made a call earlier tonight and I had Justice a partner. Christian Jacobs came out. Mark Justice/Christian Jacobs with Coach BT beat Big Red/Jason Matthews with Jimmy Tidwell. Good match. They did double heat and lost the crowd into the second one. Matthews has improved a little bit since the last time I seen him, but was dead weight during a couple of spots. Big Red is one of the most underrated in this area. Big boot to CJ was planted deep into his face. Finish had hot tag to Mark with Mark pinning Matthews sending Tidwell out of NBW. [***]

----Crazy Train retained the NBW Title vs Motley Cruz as both got counted out of the ring. Train got a big pop coming out. Match started slow as if it was going to be real long. It really never picked up and was not as good as I expected. Train has to win to stay strong as champ. He can take a beating before, during and after the bout, but he has to get the 1..2…3. After the match, Cruz hit Train with the title belt in front of Train fans and they were ready to kill him. Train had a big mark on his back. [**1/2]

----100 paid with around 120 in the building and a gate close to $600…Edwards is real funny on the mic. Edwards has been credited to getting Train over and if so, he did a great job. Edwards, who has never been great in the ring, but a good brawler seems to be content with getting over the young guys. A very good role for him…Thanks to Richard Marx for holding the mic. I got that “shaky thing” going. LOL…Moore looks and works more like a wrestler now…Why does everyone wear black & red over here??...Arnez beating up Kid after saving him didn’t really make any sense. But, hell, Arnez is suppose to be crazy.LOL…Jacobs looked real good. He was wearing a white jacket and sunglasses with turquoise colored trunks. Mark got a better babyface reaction than expected…Thanks to Big Red for taking a shot from me, even though it missed by a mile. LOL Why would I want to mess up and hit a guy that big??...Thanks again to Tidwell – I marked out for being sort of a cause for him leaving – he was one of their top heels…As you can tell by the match ratings, this show has improved to the point that there is nothing horrible on the show. They have angles and matches very similar to most of the other shows – nothing great, but nothing horrible…Thanks again to everyone for their 1st Class treatment of the book and my family.
